My Classroom - Head Start Preschool
I previously worked as a full-time teacher of a 12-month preschool class of 17 3- to 5-year-olds. I planned lessons and activities to strengthen and support the children's cognitive, social-emotional, and physical development. I used developmentally appropriate practices and best teaching techniques. I integrated several subject areas in these lessons and activities. The activities were always fun and engaging, while challenging enough for every child. I taught according to the many different learning styles and paces of my children. I collaborated with therapists to offer the best learning experience for each child with services. I worked closely with my classroom's family worker to actively involve parents and family members in their child's education and growth while they were at the Children's Learning Center. I had children from many low-income families of differing cultures, which have made me very understanding and welcoming of everyone.
