About Me

I currently live in Kingston, but grew up in Wallkill, NY and then moved to New Paltz, NY as I entered 5th grade.  I graduated from New Paltz Central High School with a Regents Diploma, membership in the National Honor Society, and as the president of S.A.D.D.  I applied to two colleges, SUNY Oneonta and SUNY Cortland, was accepted at both, but chose Oneonta and became an education major with a mathematics minor.

I spent all four years at Oneonta and finished with a 3.43 GPA and a dual certification in Early Childhood Education (birth - grade 2) and Childhood Education (grades 1 - 6).  During my time at Oneonta, I was nominated as the secretary of Sanford Society (mathematics club).  I also was a member of their Division 3 Women's Tennis Team, playing doubles.

I then made the decision to enroll in graduate school and found myself back in New Paltz at SUNY.  I have always had a strong passion to work with children with disabilities, so I chose to major in Special Education (grades 1 - 6).  I was taught by excellent professors, and I will always remember what one once told me: being fair is not giving every child what they want, but rather giving them what they need.  I graduated with a 3.94 GPA and began the job hunt right away.

I was hired by the UCCAC and became a preschool teacher at the Children's Learning Center (Kingston's Head Start).  I taught at the CLC for just shy of two years, and although I truly enjoyed working with the children and staff there, I had to keep trying to reach my professional goal to be an elementary classroom teacher of an aspiring school district.

I have recently returned to substitute teaching for the Kingston City School District.  I greatly enjoy working in the many elementary schools Kingston includes and with the vast array of children and staff members.
